Effect of Iron Ore Pellet Size on Metallurgical Properties

Iron ore pellets are small and hard spherical particles agglomerated from a fine iron concentrate. They used in the blast furnace process to produce hot metal. The diameter of is usually between 8 16 mm. In this study, batch magnesia was first sieved into particle sizes 8–10 mm, 10–12.7 12.7–16 mm 16–20 four different size fractions were study effect pellet on metallurgical properties. experiments showed decrease both reducibility under unconstrained conditions low-temperature reduction-disintegration but an increase cold crushing strength as increased. reduction-softening test, sized reached highest final temperature reduction degree among samples sizes. Based implications drawn amount should be maximized operation.
